This piece was created in 30 minutes in 2016 on a human back using red lipstick, mascara and crayon/liquid eyeliner in an abandoned house. The biological representation of a human heart symbolizes how innately fragile yet powerful the organ is. The Crayon eyeliner was initially used to create smooth outline edges, while the mascara applicator and liquid eyeliner felt tip were used as paint brushes to create form through shade and obscure textures. Finally, red lipstick was utilized to outline the highlights to create a warm tone despite the stark nature of the surroundings. Since this piece was drawn on a human back, when the person moved, the heart drawing bended, distorting its shape and reflecting the uniqueness that could never be replicated again. Regardless of how the environment or outside forces attempt to manipulate nature, the heart metaphorically represents our ability to transcend circumstances.
