Womb (2023)
Womb was a departure from my usual approach. I wanted to explore form through a quieter, more symbolic composition. I drew the outline of a closed tulip and placed a hyperrealistic rendering of myself in fetal position inside it. The concept emerged during a period of reflection, when I was listening to podcasts on inner child work and self-healing.
This piece became a visual response to questions I was journaling about at the time:
What did I fear most as a child?
What values was I brought up with?
Which ones do I still carry, and which have I let go of?
The tulip became a gentle vessel: a metaphor for safety, self-containment, and growth. It was also one of the first times I actively integrated introspective writing into my drawing process.
