to build a home (2016)
Mixed media on human canvas (red lipstick, mascara, crayon & liquid eyeliner)

This piece was created in just 30 minutes, using only makeup (red lipstick, mascara, and eyeliner) on the bare back of a friend in an abandoned house. It was a spontaneous act of expression in an unconventional setting. As the model moved, the heart I had drawn began to warp and shift, the distortion made it impossible to replicate, and that became the point.

The impermanence of the medium and the movement of the human canvas reflected something deeper: even when environments change or external pressures attempt to reshape us, our core, the heart, remains expressive, resilient, and beautifully unique.

This was as much about the process as it was about the message: ephemeral, raw, and intentionally imperfect.
