I wanted Charles to feel completely specific to the person it was made for. The composition is filled with visual references from our friendship, framed by a pastel, splashy background that keeps the surreal energy light and playful.
I used a grain brush in Procreate to give the piece an old-school poster texture, leaning into his love for surrealist aesthetics. The goal was to make something chaotic yet cohesive, full of movement, layers, and references that might seem random to everyone else but made perfect sense to us.
